Recording

Even more lucrative than teaching English here is recording your voice for language tapes. A friend here has been doing it for a few months and regularly gets paid about 200-300RMB per hour just for reading English aloud. Last week he was paid 600RMB for 45 minutes of work! It sounded so good, I decided to get in on the gig. (Actually I was more just curious about it.) So yesterday I read for 2.5 hours and got 375RMB. I know, I know, less than my friend, but hey, you got to get your foot in the door first... Unfortunately the text leaves something to be desired in terms of interest, but I'm sure my Chinese tapes weren't fun to record either.
