Mr. Aaron Wants Good Beef
Aaron and I went out to eat again. This time he came over to Shibuya. Since I couldn't find a place to go before he arrived, he went to the concierge at my hotel and asked for recommendations. Neither of us had expressed an opninion on the type of food, and we're both here on business, so Aaron asked for a place which served beef. The very nice woman at the desk suggested a teppanyaki place nearby. She called and made reservations for us. When she was giving us directions, she hesitated and said it was a little difficult to describe how to get there. She then looked around and said if she weren't too busy then she could walk us over! People here are just way too nice. After we convinced her we could find the place if she gave us directions on a map, she let us go by ourselves.
The restaurant was a cute little place owned by an older couple. We picked the Kobe beef set meal, which came with a salad, grilled vegetables, the beef, and a dessert. A slice of bread was placed on the grill and that was used as a plate for the grilled vegetables and beef. The beef was delicious and so tender--it melted in your mouth like butter. After we ate all our food, our bread was put on the grill again with melted butter. Yum! Buttery, fatty, greasy toast! Then we got ice cream. The meal was exceptional: two courses of vegetables and three courses of fat.
At the end of our meal, the husband came over and asked how we liked the meal. He said when the woman called she told him, "Mr. Aaron wants good beef." Did we like the beef? Yes, we did.
