Haleakalā

The first morning in Hawaii we went to the top of Haleakalā to see the sunrise. My dad warned me it would wipe me out for the rest of the day and he was right...Still, it was a unique experience so I enjoyed it. We left the hotel at 3:30am and got there in two hours. It was dark and freezing cold. It was pretty cool to watch the sky slowly getting orange and seeing the shadows and texture in the clouds as the sun came up above them.

On our way down, we stopped to look at the volcano. It does look like some weird alien landscape.
