Sichuan Food

Sichuan food is known for being hot. I am a big wimp when it comes to spicy food. The first day in Chengdu we tried a set meal of local food. Most of it we couldn't eat because it was too spicy. At later meals we found out that when they say something is not hot, they just mean they haven't added more hot peppers to it, not that it wasn't cooked with peppers or isn't soaking in hot oil. So yeah, the food in this region doesn't really agree with me.
