We've been incredibly fortunate on this trip with our housing. We hadn't spent more than 30RMB (<$4) per person a night until we got to Jiuzhaigou. Most of the places have been quite clean and usually with a bathroom attached to the room. The only dorm style rooms have been in Kunming and Chengdu. Ironically, the most disgusting place we stayed in was the most expensive. We had to pay 50RMB a person the last night in Jiuzhaigou for used sheets and a bathroom with smelly water.
