Dali

Dali has two parts (at least). One is the new city which looks like a dump. The other is the ancient part which is quite quaint and pretty. Like Yangshuo, it's where all the backpackers go. I haven't actually seen much of the city because the weather has been awful. It's been either raining or snowing the entire time. Unfortunately both happened today and the result is a slushy mess outside. Someone here told us it hasn't snowed here in 80 years. I'm not sure if that is right, but I do know that it hadn't snowed in Shanghai for 10 years before I went there in December. I feel like I must be bringing in a cold front or something.
